Michelle and Jody in Tiburon

Just like their Engagement Session, Michelle and Jody's wedding was so them (which is pretty synonymous with 'so fabulous' by the way). These two regularly travel by boat! So having the wedding at the Corinthian Yacht Club, right across the harbor from Sam's (where they regularly boat to on the weekend for cocktails) made perfect sense. They got engaged atop the Farallon Islands, have a special affinity for lighthouses, and need to employ their toes to count the number of Jimmy Buffet concerts they have been to.

They are indeed nautical, and their wedding was oh-so-very nautical to match. And we are oh-so-very thrilled we got to photograph it- all the beautiful details, the all-night Party with a capital P, and the unique love these two great people have for each other!

The Adventure Begins! And here's the fabulous team that helped throw the party to start it off:

Coordinator- JBD Events Dress Jewelry and Accessories- Haute Bride Bridesmaid Dresses- J Crew Church- St. Hilary in Tiburon Venue- Corinthian Yacht Club Florist- Nancy Liu Chin Band- PopRocks Cake- Branching Out

Christina and Antonio- Engaged

Here's how our epic and fabulous Engagement Session with C and A went: We started this session at the de Young (where Maria and I actually showed up early so we could check out the Gaultier exhibit, and holy amazeballs! We've decided we need to step our shooting outfits up a notch!). Anyway, we watched Antonio and Christina kiss and hold hands in the midst of all the beauty and it was like a real-life Ferris Bueller and Sloane Peterson- playing hookey from work and hanging out at the art museum! So romantic.

Then we head across town to the Car Wash, which doesn't sound as romantic, but au contraire- it's where they met. How's that for a pick-up joint!

And then we scooted over to Smitten and the bier garten where we finished up with some ice cream and beer.

And so, we were able to sum up their life in one afternoon- Car Wash Art Ice Cream. They decided that will be the name of their band :)

Maria and Andi- Engagement Session

Maria and Andi are probably two of the most likeable people we have ever met! Seriously, Maria (the Verité one) and I were instantly in love with these guys. While they are genuinely great, I think our adoration of them is at least in part due to their fantastically huge, warm, inviting smiles. I am such a sucker for a big smile. (I remember in jr. high I used to try to stretch my mouth and lips out because I was convinced if I did it enough, I would develop a Julia Roberts-like smile . . . it didn't work, btw). These guys though, they were just blessed with the real deal.

We did their session in Golden Gate Park since it has both the Japanese Tea Garden (they have Japanese heritage) and casting pools (they have a fishing thing)! Andi is an avid fly fisher. He proposed to Maria with her ring in a special tackle box and asked her to be his "fishing partner for life"! (See, they are the cutest!)

Melanie and Kevin, Engaged in San Francisco

These two love wine, and they love San Francisco, but I don't think they paid much attention to either of those things during our photo shoot since they seem to love each other way more than anything else! Which is the best type of photo session in our opinion! Seriously, their happiness to be together makes our job pretty easy!

Junebug Weddings best of 2011

There really are only two words we can say and that is HOLY CRAP!!

ok, here are a few more words:
When Robyn and I (maria, the one with bad grammar, so forgive me) found out that we have been voted as one of the many talented artists in Junebug Weddings Best of 2011 collection, we really almost started crying!! Although this is only one person's judgment and really only means anything to our mom's and husband's... WE ARE STOKED! Stoked, honored, in shock and well PROUD! Robyn and I have been batting away at this crazy business for 3 years now and it seems like it is all sort of coming together. New studio, new associate and no this! It is the perfect way to start of the new year!!
