Junebug Weddings best of 2011

There really are only two words we can say and that is HOLY CRAP!!

ok, here are a few more words:
When Robyn and I (maria, the one with bad grammar, so forgive me) found out that we have been voted as one of the many talented artists in Junebug Weddings Best of 2011 collection, we really almost started crying!! Although this is only one person's judgment and really only means anything to our mom's and husband's... WE ARE STOKED! Stoked, honored, in shock and well PROUD! Robyn and I have been batting away at this crazy business for 3 years now and it seems like it is all sort of coming together. New studio, new associate and no this! It is the perfect way to start of the new year!!

Albert and Andrea at Madrona Manor in Healdsburg

This was our last wedding of the season back at the end of September, and what a fabulous wedding to end the season with! After photographing their engagement session, we could hardly wait to do their wedding because 1) they clearly had good taste in food, and 2) Those smiles! They make our cameras happy. And we were not disappointed. Madrona Manor makes their own butter! 'nuff said. And there was such a great vibe at their wedding- it was a wonderful mix of little kids and little grandmas! And everyone smiled so much (although Albert still wins for the best smile there!)

And then there was the exquisite gardens, their gorgeous invitations (hand-printed on vintage handkerchiefs bought one at a time on ebay!), and the overall super lovely laid-back feel of the day. It was wonderful!

Here's to registering 15 years of love with the state!

Alida and Shea at the Ritz

I think it's a toss-up over which one of these two Maria and I have a bigger crush on! Alida and Shea are both just so pretty and so sweet! They are the whole package! :)

These guys said "I do" at the Ritz Carlton here in SF. And we can't not mention some of their GORGEOUS details; first there was the shoes- Maria and I usually go a little overboard on the pictures of shoes, but never quite to this extreme . . . but then again, no bride ever chose these shoes before :) And then there was the flowers and the better-than-Kate-Middelton dress, and the fashion and football cakepops (a little nod to both of their passions) . . . it was all loveliness! But the best part of the day was just how personal they made their ceremony by sharing their love story with everyone. That, and the mother-of-the-groom speech! I'm actually surprised we even got any pictures of that since we were both crying so much. It was beautiful! It was ALL beautiful!

Tatyana and Casey at Cornerstone Gardens

This wedding had so many great moments, but I'd have to say my favorite was during the Maid of Honor's speech when she pulled up some old g-chats between her and Tatyana from back when Tatyana was first "totally crushing on this guy Casey"! Oh man, I kinda died a little bit; so funny! So here we are, after many years of law school, some trips to Russia, and many hours of reading Lord of the Rings to each other- they are still totally crushing on each other, and we got to be there when they made it official!

(I should note here that the Best Man's speech also made me laugh out loud. Being married to a Blizzard nerd myself, I got an odd little rush of pride (?or something?) when he told everyone that Casey asked him to be his best man via Starcraft-- imagine one space alien typing to the other, "wanna be my best man?" while zerging his Terran siege tanks).

Erin and Eli at Sutter Creek

It was a hot day but it was amazing! Erin and Eli have traveled the world and they put that love of travel in every detail of their perfect wedding day, surrounded by the best friends and family two people could ask for. I was honored to be apart it.
The best part was they didn't do the feed each other cake thing or toss a bouquet... what?!? WHY???? Because A. you don't have to, and B. the party was too good to stop and toss a silly bouquet... have I mentioned how much I love these two?
p.s. shooting beside me was our lovely associate Natalie! she is equally amazing!
